About Midcrowd
- What is Midcrowd?
- Two things, and they are genuinely separate. Midcrowd is a subscription platform on which you build and run your own website from a template. It is also a team that builds custom software — websites, applications, mobile apps, AI systems, integrations and internal business systems — for clients who need something a template cannot be.
- Is Midcrowd a website builder or a development company?
- Both, and you choose which one you are buying. They are priced differently, contracted differently and used differently: the platform is a monthly subscription you operate yourself, and a custom project is scoped, quoted and built by us. Nothing forces you to pick one at the start — the pages for each say plainly who they suit.
- Which one is right for me?
- If you need a professional website for a normal business — a shop, a restaurant, a clinic, a studio, a trade — the platform is faster and very much cheaper, and it is what we would recommend. If the thing you need has rules a website cannot express, connects to systems you already run, or has to be an application rather than a site, that is a custom project.
- How do I contact support?
- Subscribers have a Support screen in the dashboard, which is the fastest route because it arrives with your account attached. Anyone can write to midcrowd.ai@gmail.com, or use the contact page, which routes your message to the right place.
Building it yourself
- Can I build my website myself?
- Yes — that is what the platform is for, and it needs no technical knowledge. You choose your trade, pick a design, replace the words and pictures, and publish. Nothing goes live until you press publish, and every published version is kept so a change can be undone.
- Can I sell products through Midcrowd?
- Yes. Selling is a switch on the website you already have, not a second site or a higher plan — your address, design, pages and content stay exactly as they are and a Shop page is added if you need one. You get products, orders, customers, discount codes and shipping rules in the same dashboard.
- Does Midcrowd support payments, and who takes the money?
- You do. Card payments run through Stripe into an account in your own name, and payouts go to your own bank — Midcrowd is the software, not the seller, and takes a platform commission of 3.00% on each sale, on top of the payment provider’s own processing fee; both are shown per payment in your dashboard. Before you can take money, Stripe needs a short identity and business verification. You can build and publish your site before that is done.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. Every website also gets a free address on sites.midcrowd.com, which works from the moment you publish. Midcrowd does not sell domains — you buy yours wherever you like, point it here, and it stays yours to take away.
- Does Midcrowd show me how many visitors my site gets?
- No. Midcrowd does not run an analytics collector, so there is no traffic chart and no visitor count — showing you an estimate would be showing you a number you might act on. Your dashboard shows what is real: publishes, orders, revenue and customers.
- Can I add my own code or a third-party widget?
- No. Scripts and embeds cannot be pasted into a Midcrowd site, and that limit is what stops one subscriber's page running code on another's. If your site genuinely needs a third-party widget, that is a custom project rather than a template.
- What happens if I cancel my subscription?
- That website runs to the end of the period you have already paid for. After that it goes offline and read-only: it is not deleted, your content, products, orders and customer records are kept, and paying again brings it straight back. Cancelling one website never affects your others, because each carries its own subscription.
- Who owns what I put on my website?
- You do. Your text, images, products, prices and customer records are yours, and Midcrowd only has the licence it needs to host and serve them. The platform itself, the templates and the design system are Midcrowd's — a subscription licenses their use rather than transferring them.
Having it built for you
- Can Midcrowd build my website for me?
- Yes, and we will tell you honestly if the platform would serve you better. For an ordinary business website a custom build costs far more and takes far longer for the same outcome. Where the site needs something a template cannot express, a custom build is the right answer.
- Can you build AI agents?
- Yes — agents that answer from your own documentation, assistants that search your internal knowledge, workflows that read documents and return structured data, and agents that act in your systems under explicit permissions. AI output can be wrong, so anything that matters gets a check or a person in the loop, and we design that in.
- Can you add AI to a business or product I already run?
- That is the commonest version of the request and usually the most useful. The work is mostly integration and access rules rather than the model itself — reaching your data safely, and putting the result inside the screen your staff already open rather than in another tab.
- Can you build mobile applications?
- Yes, for iOS and Android — from one codebase where that suits the product, natively where it does not. That includes store submission and the first releases after launch.
- Can you build a SaaS product?
- Yes — multi-tenant architecture, sign-up and roles, subscriptions and invoicing, an admin back office, and an MVP scoped to what actually has to exist for a first release.
- Can you integrate third-party APIs and systems?
- Usually, and this is often the cheapest project with the fastest payback. What matters is whether the system on the other side offers a way in — an API, an export, a database we can reach. Where it does not, we say so before you spend anything.
- Can you work with a website or system we already have?
- Yes — improving, extending, integrating or modernising something that exists is a large part of what we do. We look at it first and tell you whether it is worth building on, which is not always the answer you hoped for but is cheaper to hear early.
- How are custom projects priced?
- Individually, against a written scope. Price follows what the thing actually needs — complexity, integrations, how much already exists, the timeline, and whether you want us to keep running it afterwards. The ranges shown on the site help you plan and are not quotes; only a written proposal is.
- How long does a custom project take?
- It depends on the scope, and we give a range in the proposal rather than a number on a marketing page. The largest single cause of delay is not development — it is waiting for content, access or a decision, so the proposal names what we need from you and when.
- Do you provide maintenance after launch?
- If you want it. Maintenance, monitoring and further development are a separate arrangement with their own fee. A project that ends without one still belongs to you and keeps running — it is simply not being watched by us.
- Who owns what you build for me?
- Work made specifically for you is assigned to you, on the terms and at the point the proposal states — normally final payment. What that cannot cover is the layer underneath: Midcrowd's own reusable components, which you get a perpetual licence to use inside your deliverable, and open-source and third-party software, which stays with its owners under its own licence.
- Do you host the projects you build?
- We set the hosting up and can run it for you as part of a maintenance arrangement. Wherever possible the accounts are opened in your name and billed to you directly, so you keep control of them if we stop working together.
