Midcrowd's platform

The Midcrowd platform — its source code, editor, renderer, dashboard, infrastructure and design system — is owned by Midcrowd. A subscription is a licence to USE it while the subscription is current. It transfers no ownership, no source code and no right to copy, resell, host or reverse-engineer any part of it.

Templates and design system

Template families, their compositions, layouts, theme presets and the starting text and imagery they ship with are Midcrowd's. As a subscriber you may use them for your own websites, in the editor, for as long as your subscription runs. You may not extract a template, or the design system behind it, for use off the platform or in a competing product.

Starting content in a template is an example, not a claim. Replace it with your own before you publish — the sample text describes a business that is not yours, and sample imagery is licensed to Midcrowd for use inside the product rather than assigned to you.

Your content stays yours

Everything you put into a Midcrowd website — text, images, products, prices, your logo, your customer records — remains yours. You give Midcrowd only the licence needed to host, render, back up and serve it, which is what publishing a website requires and no more. That licence ends when the content is deleted.

You are responsible for having the right to publish what you upload. Uploading an image, typeface, trade mark or text you do not hold the rights to is a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.

Custom project deliverables

Work made specifically for you on a custom project is assigned to you on the terms set out in the Custom Services Terms. That assignment covers what was made for you. It does not, and cannot, cover the things underneath it:

  • Midcrowd's pre-existing components, tooling and know-how, which stay ours and are licensed to you for use within your deliverable.
  • Open-source software, owned by its authors and licensed on its own terms — which we do not have the power to change on your behalf.
  • Third-party services, APIs, models, fonts and stock assets, which remain subject to the supplier's own licence and, in most cases, to a subscription you hold.

The Midcrowd name

The Midcrowd name, logo and wordmark are ours. Using them to say you are a Midcrowd customer is fine. Using them in a way that suggests Midcrowd endorses, partners with or operates your business is not.

If you think something infringes

Write to us with the work concerned, the page or site it appears on, and why you hold the right. We review reports, and content that infringes is removed or unpublished.
